Professor Christoph Clemm, MD
Specialist in haematology and oncology
Professor Clemm was born in Planegg in 1951. After graduating from high school, he studied medicine at LMU Munich and completed his training in 1977 with his licence to practise medicine and doctorate (under Prof. Peter Scriba and Prof. Klaus von Werder). This was followed by a year at the German Heart Centre in Munich. He then began his further training as a specialist in internal medicine at the Munich Clinic Großhadern, which he successfully completed in 1985 under Prof. Wolfgan Wilmanns, Medical Clinic III.
As part of his work as an internist, Professor Clemm acquired specialisations in haematology and internal oncology, as well as an additional qualification in transfusion medicine. In February 1988, after completing a habilitation process, Professor Clemm was awarded a teaching qualification in internal medicine.
In April of the same year, he was appointed private lecturer at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich in the field of internal medicine. Professor Clemm subsequently took up a position as chief physician at the Oncology Clinic in Bad Trissl and became medical director. The clinic is a facility for the acute care of oncology patients that cooperates with the Munich Tumour Centre, the Munich University Hospitals and the Municipal Clinics.
In 1994, Professor Clemm was awarded the title of ‘extraordinary professor’. Professor Clemm left the clinic in 2001 as senior chief physician and set up an oncology practice in Munich at the Tumor Therapy Center (TTZ) of the Klinikum rechts der Isar hospital. He worked there until September 2023. From 1987 to 1994, Professor Clemm was a delegate to the Bavarian Medical Association and was a member of the Higher Education Committee of the Bavarian State Medical Association (BLÄK). He is a member of the BDi, DGHO, AiO, DKG and has been involved in the Bavarian Cancer Society for many years.
